Email marketing is a course of action that, I feel, needs to as precise to the company's demographic as can be. I almost feel like bold font and all capital letters is needed for that sentence because it is that important. There isn't much grey area within email newsletters. You check your email and within seconds you've decided that of the 20 emails you have not opened, 18 of them are now in the trash can. The reason is, no one enjoys spam and irrelevant information.
With my business being centralized around gaming computers and it's respective hardware and accessories, a monthly newsletter would fit my needs. My defense for monthly spam? Well, technology continues to change and improve every six to nine months. With that being said, a monthly newsletter would allow me to focus on specific sales according to technology development trends. For me having an interest, albeit nerdy, in computers and technology, I'll happily open an email from a reputable source (Newegg.com) when the subject line reads "25% off "x" piece(s) of hardware & Free 2-day shipping!"
I feel that my company can utilize the constant evolution of technology to safely send out a monthly newsletter with little regard of customers feeling overwhelmed with notifications.
After reading your blog about development trend and rhythm in the field of computer gaming technology, I am totally convinced about the justification of using monthly cycle as the timing your newsletter. I believe your email subscribers will benefit from the insights of the gaming industry, the evaluation of the newest gaming software and hardware and the bargain deals sourced from your email newsletter
ReplyDeleteA Monthly newsletter sounds nice especially if it’s about technology and games because as you said “Technology continues to change and improve every six to nine months” meaning that the one month newsletter is perfect because it may have any latest information. Since you are doing games, would you always follow the one monthly letter or would have a special newsletter alert to your followers when a special game out? Either way, your idea will work for your followers.
ReplyDeleteI like your topic a lot and would be interested in it myself. although, I feel a little unsure if your telling me about the news about new pc hardware or do you sell pc hardware? well if you sell hardware you could split it up into two emails with one every two weeks. You can make one email about the newest and most exciting technology and one about sales you are doing if they go right now. This could be irrelevant if you don't sell things but I was not very sure with your blog.
